Houston office vacancy up 19 percent
HOUSTON – Local office vacancy rose 19 percent last quarter, according to CBRE’s first quarter 2019 Houston Office MarketView.
Last quarter, top leasing transactions totaled 36 percent more sf than it did same time last year. Total space under construction increased to 2.4 million sf.
The first quarter ended with a negative net absorption of 440,000 sf after tenants vacated 620,000 sf in the Energy Corridor.
The largest decreases of sublease space was the Energy Corridor (400,000 sf). The largest was in The Woodlands (200,000 sf).
