GLO's Hurricane Harvey state action plan open for public comment

​AUSTIN – Texans have until April 20 to comment on the Texas General Land Office's (GLO) Amendment 3 to the $5.7 billion State Action Plan for Hurricane Harvey.

The amendment details how $652 million in additional HUD funds will be allocated by the GLO, Harris County, and the City of Houston to provide housing resources for Texas families recovering from Harvey.

Changes in the amendment include:​
  • re-allocating $37.6 million in remaining funds from Partial Repair and Essential Power for Sheltering (PREPS) budget to the Multifamily Affordable Rental Program, bringing the total for the program to $487.6 million;
  • outlining intended uses for $89.3 million in additional direct allocation for Harris County programs; and
  • outlining intended uses for $89.6 million additional direct allocation for City of Houston programs.
