Home prices grow in SA housing market
SAN ANTONIO – After a record-setting May (over 3,600 local home sales), June home sales dipped 8 percent over the month.
Area home sales last month totaled 3,306, a 1 percent decrease year over year.
Though homes sales have softened, home prices continue to grow. The average home price in June was up more than $10,000 from May and over $15,000 from last year.
Of the homes sold last month, 62.5 percent were priced from $200,000 to $500,000. Thirty percent were priced below $200,000, while the remaining 7.5 percent were priced over $500,000.
Bexar County continued to demonstrate its affordability compared with other counties in Texas with a median sales price of $229,000.
In comparison, the median price was $400,000 in Travis County, $269,000 in Dallas County, and $242,000 in Harris County.
