From jails to trails: Dawson State Jail under new ownership

DALLAS – Trinity Park Conservancy has purchased Dawson State Jail along W. Commerce St. for $3 million.

The former jail, which closed in 2013, borders the Trinity River Corridor with green spaces. It will possibly become organization offices and amenities for nearby park and trail users.

The property changed hands through an entity called MSW 106 Commerce LLC in April. Funds came from donor gifts.
