First United Bank meets first mass timber project

​​​​​FREDERICKSBURG – Construction has started on a new First United Bank at 1114 SH 16.

The 8,500-sf facility will be the first mass-timber construction project to be completed in Texas and the first nationally to use Southern Yellow Pine Cross Laminated Timber panels. The wood weighs less, is more resilient, and has a reduced carbon footprint.

Gensler is designing the building, which is anticipated to open in July 2019.​
