DFW industrial completions, absorption top 20M sf
DALLAS – North Texas' booming warehouse and distribution market had another big year in 2018, according to the latest data from Cushman & Wakefield Inc.
About 27 million sf of warehouse space in 87 projects delivered to market this year.
In addition, expanding and relocating industrial building tenants net leased nearly 23 million sf of warehouse space.
Industrial building demand and construction in the region remains near an all-time high as the year ends.
Currently, almost 22 million sf of warehouse space is under construction in North Texas, one of the largest such totals in the country.
Only about 7 percent of DFW warehouse space was empty at the end of the year. Average quoted industrial building rents in the area were almost unchanged from a year ago.
